Who fancies a Starbucks copycat recipe?


What happens when you take the Muggle world's popular coffee drink, with the Wizarding World's most famous drink? Well, the Butterbeer Frappuccino is born!


This easy Frappuccino recipe is inspired by the famous Harry Potter drink - Butterbeer! Find out how to create your own homemade butterscotch sauce before transforming it into an irresistible Butterbeer Frappuccino inspired by the popular Starbucks iced coffee drink!

If you've been looking for an easy Starbucks Frappuccino recipe follow this simple step-by-step recipe to learn how to make homemade Butterbeer Frappuccino fresh from the Wizarding World!


Harry Potter Butterbeer Frappuccino Recipe Ingredients

(makes 1-2 servings)


For the homemade butterscotch sauce recipe

  • 100g soft brown sugar

  • 45ml water

  • 25g butter

  • 300ml double cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • pinch of salt

For the Butterbeer Frappucinno

  • 2 cups ice

  • 50ml espresso coffee

  • 200ml milk

  • 4 tbsp butterscotch sauce

  • 1 tsp vanilla syrup

  • whipped cream to finish

Harry Potter Butterbeer Frappuccino Recipe Method:

  1. To begin, make your homemade butterscotch sauce by adding the sugar into a pan on a medium heat and adding in the water. Swirl until dissolved but be careful not to stir too much - otherwise, sugar crystals will form.

  2. Allow to caramelise for 3-5 minutes until dark golden brown and then add in the butter, swirling until melted. Slowly pour in the double cream and then whisk through as it bubbles away. Flavour with vanilla and salt and then allow to simmer for 2 more minutes. Transfer into a bowl or jar and allow to cool before using. (Wizard Tip! This can be made ahead of time and will last for 3-5 days in the fridge)

  3. To make the Harry Potter Butterbeer Frappe brew your espresso (Wizard Tip! You can use fine coffee powder and hot water if you don't have a coffee machine at home). Place all of your Starbucks Frappuccino ingredients into a blender and mix on high for 1 minute.

  4. Transfer the remaining butterscotch sauce into a bottle with a nozzle tip and use this to decorate the inside of your glass. Quickly pour the Butterbeer Frappuccino over the top before finishing with squirty cream and a final drizzle of butterscotch sauce.

Once you've given it a try, this Starbucks Copycat Butterbeer Frappuccino won't be around for long!
