"What she did have were... Drooble's Best Blowing Gum"
This recipe is sure to pop! Everyone loves bubblegum, but have you ever tried to make your own? It's surprisingly easy so I couldn't wait to create a recipe to bring Drooble's gum to life!
This easy bubblegum recipe only requires a few ingredients and takes just minutes to make! Once you've created the gum base you can personalise it with a range of flavours. To add a little Harry Potter magic, I'm transforming mine into lightning bolts in the Hogwarts House colours!
Drooble's Best Blowing Gum Ingredients:
(makes approx 12 pieces)
40g gum base
125g icing sugar
50g glucose syrup
1 tbsp bubblegum flavouring
food colouring (in Hogwarts colours)
wax paper (for wrapping)
Homemade Bubblegum Method:
Heat the gum base, glucose syrup and flavourings until melted (you can do this in a non-stick pan on a low heat, or in the microwave cooking it a few seconds at a time)
Pour the icing sugar onto a worktop and make a well in the middle. Pour the base into the centre and then begin to work the icing sugar in.
Continue kneading the base until it resists incorporating anymore icing sugar.
Split the gum into 4 and use food colouring gel to dye into your preferred colour (Wizard Tip! If the gum goes to hard, ping in the microwave for a few seconds)
Roll the gum out to about ½ cm thick and then shape - I've sliced mine into mini lightning bolts
Wrap the gum in wax paper to keep it fresh
