This week, we've got another Hogwarts House themed candy to try!

This week we're moving onto Chapter Seven of the Prisoner of Azkaban "The Boggart in the Wardrobe" where we find our next recipe:

"stuffing the nearest keyhole with chewing gum"

Classic Peeves! At least we've got a tasty treat out of it!

We originally tackled Drooble's Best Blowing Gum during the Philosopher's Stone so this time round I wanted to recreate a classic chewing gum recipe - the gumball!

This easy gumball recipe only takes minutes to make and be personalised with your favourite colours and flavours. I've infused these homemade gumballs with four flavours inspired by the Hogwarts Houses to make the perfect magical treat!

If you've been looking for an easy flavoured gumball recipe follow this simple step-by-step recipe to learn how to make homemade gumballs in Hogwarts House flavours!

Hogwarts House Gumballs Ingredients

(makes 16 large gumballs)

For the Hogwarts House gumball recipe:

  • 40g gum pellets (10g per flavour)

  • 60g liquid glucose (15g per flavour)

  • 4 x 1 tsp assorted flavourings (I've used strawberry, bubblegum, orange and peppermint)

  • food colouring gel (in red, green, yellow and blue)

  • 100g - 150g icing sugar (split into 4)

Hogwarts House Gumball Recipe Method:

  1. To make your homemade gumballs, place the portion of gum pellets, liquid glucose, flavouring and food colouring gel into a small bowl.

  2. Heat in the microwave for a few seconds at a time until melted. Stir through until smooth.

  3. Working quickly, pour some of the icing sugar onto a worktop and make a well in the middle. Pour in the gum mix and use a knife to slowly work the icing sugar in. Once it becomes thick, knead with your hands incorporating more icing sugar as you go.

  4. Once the gum won't absorb any more icing sugar, cut it into four and roll in the palm of your hand to form a gumball. Set aside and repeat the process with your other Hogwarts flavours.

  5. Leave the gumballs out overnight to allow the outside to harden. Store in an airtight jar or wrap in wax paper.
