This week we're moving onto Chapter Eight of the Philosopher's Stone - 'The Potions Master'

"What have we got today? Harry asked Ron as he poured sugar on his porridge"

Porridge is a great way to start the day, but can be quite divisive! I'm taking that as a challenge to come up with a magical version that everyone will love

This overnight oats recipe only takes minutes to make and can be personalised to suit your tastebuds. I've conjured up four versions, each one inspired by a Hogwarts House so that you can create the perfect breakfast for your Wizarding World friends!

Hogwarts House Overnight Oats Recipe Ingredients:

(makes 4 overnight oats, 1 per house)

  • 100g oats

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 350ml milk

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

  • fruit, raisin, seeds for each Hogwarts House to decorate

Harry Potter Porridge Oats Recipe Method:

  1. To begin you want to prepare your overnight oats base by adding the oats, sugar, salt and cinnamon into a jar. Stir or shake until well combined.

  2. Pour over the milk and vanilla and stir again. Place into the fridge overnight (or for at least 4 hours).

  3. On the morning of you can prepare your fruits, seeds and nuts for each House. I'm using Apple & Kiwi for Slytherin, Strawberry & Cherry for Gryffindor, Peach for Hufflepuff and Blueberry for Ravenclaw.

  4. To serve the Hufflepuff Peach Oats; layer the overnight oats mixture with freshly sliced peach, honey and cinnamon. Top with fruits and seeds.

  5. To serve the Gryffindor Strawberry & Cherry Oats; layer the overnight oats with freshly sliced strawberries, pitted cherries and desiccated coconut. Top with additional fruit and coconut.

  6. To serve the Ravenclaw Blueberry & Walnut Oats; layer the overnight oats with fresh blueberries, chopped walnuts and raisins. Top with additional blueberries and dried fruits.

  7. To serve the Slytherin Apple & Kiwi Oats; layer the overnight oats with freshly slices apple, kiwi and pumpkin seeds. Top with additional fruits and seeds
