This week, we've got a super easy, fun breakfast recipe with a wild twist!

Chapter Two of the Prisoner of Azkaban "Aunt Marge's Big Mistake" is back with another recipe as we see:

"It's normally just a fry up for me of an evening, with twelve dogs to look after"

Let's try to not make a dog's dinner of this one then!


Back in the Philosopher's Stone we served up a fry up inspired by Harry's face so this time I wanted to see if we could take it up a notch and create one of Aunt Marge's favourite dogs!


This easy English Breakfast recipe (also known as a Fry Up) involves minimal preparation which means you can spent more time on bringing the magical decoration to life! The sausages, bacon and eggs in this traditional fry up can also we swapped out to make it vegetarian/vegan-friendly!

Harry Potter Breakfast Fry Up Recipe Ingredients

(makes 2 servings)

  • 4 button mushrooms

  • 2 plum tomatoes

  • 4 rashers streaky bacon

  • 6 chipolata sausages

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 bagel (+optional butter)

  • olive oil for cooking

  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Harry Potter English Breakfast Recipe Method:

  1. To begin you want to preheat your oven to 180c (360F). Prepare your mushrooms and tomatoes by giving them a good wash. Cut the stems off the mushrooms and slice the tomatoes in half lengthways.

  2. Drizzle some olive oil into a roasting tin and place in your vegetables before seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes until caramalised.

  3. Heat a pan on a medium-high heat and then drizzle in some oil. Fry the bacon rashers for 2-3 minutes each side until crispy and then place on a tray to one side.

  4. Fry the sausages for 2 minutes each side, rotating until all sides are golden.

  5. For the circular eggs, place metal rings in the fry pan and grease well with oil. Gently crack the egg in and season with salt and pepper. Place a lid on top and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes. Use a knife to ease the eggs out of the rings. (Wizard tip! For well done eggs, turn down the heat and place the lid back on top for another 3 minutes)

  6. Slice the bagel and lightly toast before adding an optional spread of butter. (Wizard Tip! If any of your ingredients have cooled too much, place them into the oven while you wait for your bagel to toast)

  7. Assemble the breakfast using the bagel as the head, egg and mushroom for the nose, tomato for the mouth, mushrooms for the eyes, bacon for the ears and sausages for the body.

And with that our magical breakfast is complete! I sure hope Aunt Marge enjoys it as much as I did!
