Harry Potter PepperUp Potion Ingredients
(makes 1 litre - 5-6 servings)
4 cloves garlic
100g - 150g ginger root
1 tbsp turmeric
2-3 tbsp honey
1 litre water
Homemade Pepper-Up Potion Method:
To make your PepperUp Potion you want to start by preparing your ingredients. Peel the garlic and ginger, chop into rough chunks and then blitz in a food processor. Add these into a pan on a medium heat along with the turmeric and fry for 3-5 minutes to cook off the spices.
Zest and juice your lemons and then add both into the pan, stirring through to remove any spices off the bottom.
Pour in your honey (Wizard Tip! You can add more or less depending on how sweet you like it) along with your water and allow to boil.
Once the potion is bubbling away reducing the heat to a low simmer and place a lid on top. Leave to simmer for 30 minutes to bring out the depth of flavour.
For a super-strong PepperUp potion pour into a blender and mix until smooth. For a mild-medium flavour, pour the potion through a sieve to remove the garlic and ginger.
Once cooled you can bottle the potion and keep in the fridge for 3-5 days.
To get most of the health benefits you want to serve this hot so warm in a pan (or the microwave) before drinking.
